Slammed Cars

There is a large Hispanic community where I live, and that means there are a couple of really interesting car clubs that make their appearance on the streets downtown during the weekends. The auto accessories these guys have are really kind of mind blowing.

I’m not talking about bug deflectors or Hella lights either. I’m talking about full blown hydraulic systems that make the cars go up or down! Some of these guys can slam the car down so low that it is literally dragging the street. Then they can lift it up and even drive with one wheel off of the ground. I’ve seen a few of them get the whole front end to bounce up off of the ground! If that won’t rattle your fillings loose, I don’t know what will.

And even though a lot of this is probably not street legal, the cops don’t seem to hassle them. They really are not hurting anyone or anything, and it kind of brings people together, so why would they? It doesn’t draw a huge crowd, but there are definitely people lined up on the street every Saturday night to get a glimpse of these totally chopped cars as they do their tricks down the main drag.
