Before you rent a car in the Florida area, be aware that depending on the Orlando or Fort Lauderdale car rental agency you choose, certain rules may apply. The following rules seem to be typical for most rental car companies.
1. Many corporate Fort Lauderdale and Orlando car rental agencies require their customers to be over the age of 25. However, some businesses allow underage clients to sign an underage fee of $25 per day in order to rent a vehicle.
2. The daily rate is a 24-hour period. Weekly rates are seven-day bookings consisting of seven uninterrupted, 24-hour days. If you return the car at a different time or date than agreed to on your contact you will be charged extra money.
3. Be aware that extra insurance, taxes, optional add-on packages, and gas are not included in your base rate. This is how the companies make money. Read your contract thoroughly before you sign to make certain you are not being charged for any additional packages you do not want.
Other restrictions may occur with Fort Lauderdale and Orlando rental cars. Just always remember to read your contract agreement and check the car for any damages before you sign the paperwork.
